#38 Experience
From Spiritual Breadcrumbs, by Samuel Froehlich
“I speak from experience” – so say the wise of this world. They thus ascribe great importance to their experience, believing that without experience they could not speak so well on this or that. They are quick to give experience preference over mere knowledge and reasoning. And yet in exactly the most important matter of all, these men are so inconsistent that they will neither believe nor admit to a reborn child of God that the experience of Christ is higher than the mere knowledge of Christ; that one must first experience Christ before one can talk about Him, and that there can be absolutely no confession of Christ without the living experience of Christ in one’s own heart! I must confess that I did not know Christ before I had experienced Him full of grace and truth.
