#1 Mirror of the Soul
By Samuel Froehlich
Humility makes a man peaceable among his brethren, fruitful of doing good, cheerful in suffering and constant in holy living. Humility makes us qualified for the highest service that we owe to Christ and at the same time is not neglectful of the lowliest service to the saint in the most modest of circumstances. Humility can be content with the poorest of fare and yet will have a special liking for the choicest tidbit, as with God, with Christ and be entertained majestically. Humility makes one willing and ready to bless him who curses him and to pray for him who persecutes him. A humble heart is an abode of God, a disciple of Christ, a companion of angels, a storage utensil for grace, and is prepared for glory. Humility is the attentive nurse or guardian of our grace and gifts and the mighty spur to consecrated exercise of duty.
